2D Wire Spring Simulations


Wire spring simulation: Four masses (M1 = ... = M4 = 1 kg) are connected with relaxed springs (K1 = ... = K5 = 100 N/m). Upper left mass is fixed, lower left and upper right masses are at rest and lower right mass has initial velocity v=(5,-5) m/s.

Wire spring simulation: Let the nine masses be numbered 1,...,9 from left to right and bottom to top. M5 = M9 = 5 kg, all other masses have mass 1 kg. All springs are relaxed and soft (K = 100 N/m), except the spring connecting masses 5 and 9 is a relaxed stiff spring (K = 500 N/m). Masses 5 and 9 have initial velocities v5 = (-4.5,-4.5) m/s and v9 = (4.5,4.5) m/s, respectively. All other masses are at rest.

Wire spring simulation: Same simulation as above, except that there are four more soft springs and masses 5 and 9 have initial velocities v5 = (-5,-5) m/s and v9 = (5,5) m/s, respectively.
