I want to compute how waves propagate. When the medium in which the wave travels ends, the wave interacts with this boundary of the medium and is e.g. reflected. Such wave-boundary interactions come in various forms and I am particullary interested in cases where the borderline can oscillate or carry a wave itself. The goal of my research is to understand if the receipes which are used to simulate waves on a computer still work well in the case of such complex interactions between wave and boundary.
